On Saturday 9th May 2026, members of the Royal Naval Association were delighted to present S/m Jan and S/m Phil with Honorary Life Memberships of the branch in recognition of their outstanding dedication, commitment, and loyal service over many years.
The awards were presented during a special gathering attended by fellow shipmates and friends, making it a proud and memorable occasion for all involved. Both recipients have made significant contributions to the Bolton Branch and have played an important part in supporting the values, traditions, and camaraderie of the Royal Naval Association throughout their years of service.
In addition to receiving Honorary Life Membership, members were especially pleased to invite S/m Jan to become the branch’s first Honorary Vice President. This special honour was awarded in recognition of more than 50 years of loyal and devoted service to both the Royal Naval Association and the Bolton Branch in particular.
The presentation reflected the deep respect and appreciation held for both shipmates, whose continued dedication and support have helped strengthen the branch and its community spirit across many decades. The occasion was marked with warm applause, good humour, and sincere gratitude from all those in attendance.
